Website Baker Freebies
As someone who has benefitted from the great
little open-source Content Management System (CMS) called Website Baker (it powers several sites
you see in our portfolio), we wanted to give a little something back to the WB community.

News Module modification
The Website Baker "News" module is a nice, easy way to set up a blog quickly. However,
the layout is table-based, and can break some all-CSS page layouts. We developed a customized version
of the add.php page of Website Baker's news module. Here's how you can use it:
- Right
click on this link and save the text file to your computer.
- Copy and paste the code into a new file named add.php.
- Change colour codes, font info etc to suit your own template, if necessary.
- Replace the default add.php file in the News directory with your new add.php file. (The file
is found along this path: [wb]/modules/news/ .)
Note: uploading this mod will not automatically change existing news pages/blogs. The mod will,
however, provide the default styles for any new pages you create with the News module. To alter
your existing blog, you will need to copy and paste settings. To do this:
- In your admin, create a new blog (which will use the new template).
- You will now see the new blog's "Modify Page" interface.
- Click on the Settings button (NOT the "Change Settings" link at
the top). You will now be looking at the News module's HTML and CSS info.
- In a new window or tab, go to Pages and find your existing blog. Do the same thing you have
done with your new blog: Go to the Settings page. You should now have the Settings page for each
blog (the new one and your existing one) open side by side.
- From the settings of your new blog, copy the code from the box marked "Header" and
paste into the corresponding box on the settings page of your existing blog. Repeat this process
for each of the boxes of code you see on the page (Header, Post Loop, Footer etc). Note:
Be careful to copy and paste in the right direction!
