Introducing 3D
As of September 2008, we have added 3D rendering into our list of services. You can see examples of our work at our own new launch, shortordersite.com, as well as wildcad.ca, a recent client site.
Introductory Offer
As a special introductory offer, we are providing 3D services at an amazing rate of $25/hr between now and March 2009. Be sure to take advantage of this great price, available when you have us develop a site for you. (If you want 3D work without site development, we offer you an introductory rate of $30/hr.)
Why 3D?
Why choose 3D-based images rather than photographs for your web site?
Here's why:
- Uniqueness: Our 3D renders will be unique to your site; you won't have to worry about seeing the same images elsewhere (much less on a competitor's site!).
- Flexibility: Photographs provide limited flexibility. In the case of royalty-free photos, you are limited to the selection of poses, angles, contexts, and lighting conditions that the photographer chose to employ, even if he went to the trouble of doing a set rather than a one-off photo. Even with commissioned photo shoots (which will cost you a great deal of money), you are still limited by your location, lighting conditions, and so on. And if something isn't quite the way you want it, you'll need to incur the expense of a reshoot. With 3D, if you don't like the angle, no problem. Want a different effect with the lighting? Easy-peasy. Want the model wearing a different outfit? It's a snap. Have a visual idea that entails bending reality a bit? No problem.
- Continuity and Expandability: Whether you do your own photo shoot or use royalty-free photographs, you're rarely going to be able to use the same models repeatedly for the purposes that you want. With 3D renders, there are no such limitations. Whether you choose renders that are realistic or "cartoonish," you can use 3D characters as a defining mark of your site. Just as Tony the Tiger has become the face of Frosted Flakes, you can choose a character or characters which will become the face(s) of your site and your product for years to come - without being stuck with a limited palette of images. With 3D, your favourite characters can easily be placed in new scenes whenever you need them.
